Literally, all my pairings for this are just about the identity porn shenanigans. Mistaking Buster for one of the twins, or Olaf mistaking Curtain for Jerome, or even Benedict trying to arrest Buster for something Curtain did and all of a sudden this man just bursts into tears because he’s not made for prison. Curtain would lose his mind if he and Buster were related somehow. I love anything from this category. Just. Let me live my life in this ridiculous fantasy world.

The Mysterious Benedict Society - Trenton Lee Stewart

Constance Contraire & Original Psychic Character(s) - Okay, the possibility for worldbuilding here! We know other psychics exist, but meeting Constance? Easily one of the most stubborn and contrary people in the books, if not the world? Does she shoot rude poems at the other character psychically? Does she learn from them, or them from her? How does this all play into the rest of the world, if it does at all?

Constance Contraire & Tai Li - Once again, the possibility for worldbuilding here! The psychic characters fascinate me, and I’d love to see more Constance helping Tai however she can! Maybe right before Riddle of Ages, when Constance is leading Tai to the house? Maybe after, as Tai is growing up, and Constance helps him hone his skills along with his aunt? I’m so curious! I want to hear your perspective!

Milligan & Kate Wetherall - Let's be real, we're missing massive chunks of the picture of these two! What happens immediately after they get back to the farm? How many fights do they have based on the way Kate was raised vs Milligan's ideas on how she should go about the rest of her life? The danger and reckless abandonment of an adrenaline junkie daughter vs the exasperation and concern of a father?

Alternately, you could also go with Kate and Milligan post The Prisonner's Dilemma, as he slowly brings her into spywork! How did that first conversation go? How many gray hairs has Milligan acquired from Kate's close calls on missions? I'm deathly curious about your potential take on that!

Milligan & None - He's a mysterious man in a mysterious book. We never find out his real name, why no one came looking for him, who he loved enough to have Kate with. Why? What happened in his past that he no longer wants to be associated with any of it, even if he has his memories back?

Canon-compliant is welcome, but if you want to go canon-divergent too, I'd love to see what butterfly effects you could create. What if "Accidental Baby Acquisicion" applied to Kate? Who was Milligan's childhood friend who pushed him into spydom? What if he met Nicholas earlier, pre-amnesia? Go nuts, or play it straight, I love it all.

Nicholas Benedict & Ledroptha Curtain - Okay, I know they were sworn enemies in the book, but listen: only Curtain viewed them that way. Nicholas was perpetually trying to reach out, to be kind, to ensure that everyone involved was safe. Why? What did he see in Ledroptha that we missed because we were reading from the children’s perspectives? The possibilities are ripe for the taking!

I’d love to see their interactions post-The Prisoner’s Dilemma but pre-The Riddle of Ages, if you want to include that. What caused Curtain to turn tail? Did Benedict finally get him to listen? We only see the kids’ speculation! But if we got to see some more options from the adults’ perspective, that would be totally epic.

Nicholas Benedict/Ledroptha Curtain - They are brothers fated to meet, they are sworn enemies to one and the last tether to anything resembling family and roots to the other. They are fire and fury versus light and mirth. In this universe, they were never destined to be, but in another time, another place, they might have been.

Suffice to say, anything either in canon 'verse or AU is fine here! If you want to write about star-crossed love, cool! Want to write some sci-fi epic where their love transcends galaxies? Go for it! A coffee shop employee desperately wants their manager to finally step up and ask the guy they're always bickering with out already? Love to see it!

Villainous Sidekick & Heroic Team as Family Who Adopts Them - Redemption! Tears! The possibility of the sidekick being abandoned by their villainous mentor and being left alone in a cold, uncaring world! And then the heroes come along, accept the sidekick into their fold, and they learn that maybe, just maybe, the world isn’t so cold and uncaring after all.

Thinking in terms of genre, I like superheroes, or science fiction, or urban fantasy as of late, however if you want to look in other directions for genres, feel free to experiment. Optional details are optional, and all that.

Hugo Freeman/Wallace Price - Oh, I love a canon queer couple! I want to see everything about these two, from their first fights to their first time! How does Wallace adjust to being alive again? How does he adjust to being a Reaper? Give me anything and I’ll eat it up!

Hugo Freeman & Mei Freeman - The history! Mei doesn’t know the first Reaper Hugo had, and I imagine Hugo wasn’t too keen on getting a new one, but The Manager gets what The Manager wants. How did they get to know each other? What was their history before Wallace? Furthermore, after Wallace joins, how is their relationship affected? I want to know!

Mei Freeman & Wallace Price - These two! The Reapers! I want to see Mei teaching Wallace how to help ghosts. I want to see them butt heads, grow closer, come to an understanding. I want to see Wallace fuck up in the shop to the point where Mei just goes off and the awkward silence afterward. Seriously, their relationship was electric in the books, I want more of this epic friendship!

Apollo & Hugo Freeman - I want to know more about Hugo’s history with his dog Apollo. Seriously. How did the goodest boy help his human when it came to panic attacks and keeping on keeping on? Alternately, how did Hugo train Apollo (successfully or not) in certain aspects of service animal help?
