the_no_name_systemWelcome to my letter! Here I hope to detail some prompts that will inspire, but as always, if you have your heart set on something different, by all means, go forth with my blessing to follow your ideas!
Let’s start with the standard DNWs and Likes list:
Hell Followed With Us - Andrew Jospeh White
Ah, a classic thriller story. Shnuffeluv? Liking a YA Thriller? Apparently so!
I love this book, I devoured it over the course of three days. Despite being a tiny bit squeamish at the description of the Graces, the way it tackled trans characters, autistic characters, queer characters, and religious trauma intrigued me! I loved the characters, they felt so real and the interpersonal relationships were top-notch, not to mention the whole aspect of having to hide your true self from those around you who you want to trust! It’s an amazing book.
Char: Nick (Hell Followed With Us)
We only saw a tiny bit of Nick’s perspective, and that’s a shame because his inner thoughts were so intriguing! What was he like when he was an Angel? What was his life like back in New Nazareth, why did he beg Theo to follow him to the ALC? What made him convinced that Benji could be used as proof to the doomsdayers that they deserved supplies? I would love anything from Nick’s childhood to post-canon on this one!
Benji Woodside/Nick (Hell Followed With Us)
The canon couple! I have so many questions! How do they navigate Benji’s new form? How do they reconcile who they are with the rest of the ALC? How do they learn to communicate with each other, and does Nick make Benji bead lizards more than once? They’re adorable and terrifying in equal measure, and I want to see your take on how their relationship could evolve!
Benji Woodside/Theo Clairborne/Nick (Hell Followed With Us)
At first I thought this was going to be a love triangle that could be solved with polyamory, but even despite the fact that it’s not, these three together could have been such delightful chaos! Theo respecting Benji’s identity to a point, Nick’s no-nonsense attitude and staunch respect for Benji, plus Benji himself would make an interesting pissing contest between these three. I’d love to see any interpretation of how they got together—did Theo agree to run away with Nick to the ALC and they stumble across Benji? Does Theo come along with Benji during the ambush and they both get saved?
Established relationship would also be wonderful—how do they react when they’ve settled into their relationship, and how does the world change to accomodate them and their conflicting ideals? Where do they compromise? Where do they just agree to disagree? Who does the dishes and who tends to Benji’s wings?
The Mysterious Benedict Society - Trenton Lee Stewart
You already probably know this has been my latest recurring obsession, but I love everything about this series—the anacronistic time period, the slow slide from pure science fiction to more fantasy as the series progresses, and the witty humor while still being a children’s book is just delightful!
McCracken/Milligan (The Mysterious Benedict Society)
Do I have an excuse for being obsessed with this ship? Does enemies-to-lovers with homoerotic undertones count as an excuse? I love these two’s banter with my whole heart, and I can imagine them in another life being just—such partners in crime, or justice! I see them as soulmates who would be disgusted to find out the other is their soulmate purely from a morals standpoint. McCracken is said to be a model prisoner—polite and obliging the guards’ wishes, which is interesting, considering his violent tendencies, but maybe with Milligan he could have that same obliging nature under different circumstances?
Or maybe they just have delicious hate sex with some dub-con tossed on top while one of them is held captive by the other. That works too.
Yotsuba to! | Youtsuba&!
I love this slice-of-life series with my whole heart. The sweetness of the characters, Yotsuba’s childlike wonder at everything, and making every day a new discovery, a new adventure, it’s idyllic and lovely. I honestly am obsessed, and I can’t believe I didn’t think to request it sooner!
Char: Koiwai Yotsuba (Yotsuba to!)
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I love how every day is a new adventure for Yotsuba. What does she discover next, and does her previous learning factor into it at all? Where does she come from? What was her life like before she was adopted? Or what is she like as she grows older, starts going to school, or even later, once she’s an older child, a young teen, an adult? Does she keep that same wonder? How so?
Koiwai Yotsuba & Koiwai Yousuke
I want to know how these two meet! I want to know what about Yotsuba mad Yousuke want to take her in! I want to know what it was like before they moved! I want to know how it was just the two of them, and how their relationship continues throughout their lives. How does everything slide into place?
Koiwai Yotsuba & Koiwai Yousuke & Takeda Takashi
I loved the addition of Jumbo from the very start! These three together cause such trouble, and the domestic moments are so cute! Yotsuba just going full-energy with Jumbo, and Jumbo’s gentle giant, go-with-the-flow attitude about Yotsuba while Yousuke is the voice of reason with exasperation for Jumbo in spades, it’s great and I’d love to see more of it! Whatever you have in mind for these three would be adorable.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023)
This movie is so hilariously campy and self-referencial, and I adored every moment of it. The dynamics of the characters, the rivalry with Mario and Donkey Kong, the whole Bowser situationship with literally everyone around him, the Peaches song…I literally adored the hilarity and absurdity of it all.
Mario/Luigi
I feel like at this point it wouldn’t be a shnuffeluv request without at least one incest ship. But these two are so desperately co-dependent with each other it’s insane. Literally Mario cannot function without Luigi there to ground him, and I want to see what it would be like if they were more than just brothers, but lovers as well.
Bowser/Luigi
I love the tension between these two, and I’m a sucker for enemies-to-lovers. I can imagine them going zero-to-sixty in thirty seconds flat, or the gentle, subtle getting closer until oops, they’ve been dating for six months and they’re the last people to realize it! Plus, Luigi just strikes me as a monsterfucker. What else do you need to know?
Bowser/Luigi/Peach
Take what I love about Bowser/Luigi, ramp it up to eleven, and throw in some common sense with Peach, and you’ve got a recipe for a wonderful, complicated, homey relationship. How does this unlikely pairing happen? Does Bowser make a move on Peach and then Luigi? Or Luigi then Peach? Do Luigi and Peach get together and approach Bowser? Is this relationship more consensual or blackmail-like in nature? It doesn’t have to be a healthy relationship! Give me whatever ideas you’ve got, I’d love to see it!
Doctor Who (2005)
I am perpetually behind on this show, so full disclaimer: as of writing this letter I haven’t finished through the fourteenth Doctor. I love to see interactions from characters in Thirteen’s run and earlier, back to Rose, though! I love the monster-of-the-week episodes the best, and the creepiest ones to me are the ones that focus on human nature or where the everyday things are deadly (looking at you, Midnight and The Waters of Mars)!

Yasmin Khan/Bill Potts
I saw this in the tagset and honesly? Galaxy brain, 10/10, would have never thought of this pairing myself but it’s so beautiful. Maybe in another timeline, Bill joins the support group for people who have left The Doctor, and she and Yaz connect on a deeper level. Maybe they meet at the Uni Bill works at and strike up a conversation. Maybe Bill stays with the Doctor as she regenerates and when they meet Yaz Bill just falls head-over-heels. I have no coherent thoughts on plot for this one, just two of my faves being smashed together like the Barbie Dolls they are.
