Crossover Fandom

Count Olaf (A Series of Unfortunate Events)/Ledroptha Curtain (The Mysterious Benedict Society)

These two have the potential to be so campy together. They're evil, sure, but Curtain practices his evil speeches in the mirror, and Count Olaf is a theatre kid at heart. Imagine the havoc they would wreak if they joined forces! There's also the fact that Tony Hale plays both Curtain and Jerome Squalor, so if you wanted to make a plot point out of that fact, I certainly wouldn't complain! (I really love the thought of Curtain just going "what do you mean there's a third?!" to Olaf and there's like. A pregnant silence before Olaf goes "...Third?" in confusion.) Any scenario you put them into, mortal peril or curtainfic (ha!) sounds perfect to me!

Klaus Baudelaire (A Series of Unfortunate Events) & Sticky Washington (The Mysterious Benedict Society)

Okay, this friendship came out of a fic I read once and I absolutely want more of. Their love of books could be a bonding point, as well as having guardians who were...less than caring, to put it lightly. If you want to send them on a journey, by all means, feel free! If you want them to have nice things happen for an entire 10k worth of fic, that's awesome too! Truth be told, this friendship is wholesome enough that even if you do take them into mortal peril, I still will probably develop cavities from "the power of friendship" fluff.

Doctor Who (2005)

Ruth Clayton | The Doctor/Bill Potts

I love this ship for all of its potential. The Fugitive Doctor has all the teeth that Twelve did and then some. Bill asks all the right questions, and I think she could unlock a softer side of this Doctor that we only get glimpses of when she explains herself to Thirteen. There's so much of the universe that we don't get to see that would be magical to Bill, and I think the Doctor would love to show her every last inch of the Universe.

Ninth Doctor/Jack Harkness/Rose Tyler

Ah, my classic OT3. As far as I'm concerned, there was no rivalry for Rose's affections and these three were always dating. Jack and Nine would have a friendly rivalry for Rose's affection, but nothing more. Nine is war-torn and damaged, but he learns to see lightness in the universe again thanks to Rose and Jack. Rose learns that she's important through Nine and Jack. And Jack learns that he might be able to settle down thanks to Rose and Nine. It's oh-so complicated, and yet oh-so-simple all at once.

Monster Prom

Full disclosure, I haven't played Camp yet, so if you make references to that, I won't recognize them. That doesn't mean I don't want nods to it at all, but I couldn't tell you that's where they're from.

I have the same prompt ideas for both these groups, it's up to you whether you want to make them platonic or otherwise. The group of player characters have a photo at the end of Monster Prom with the fur of them in a band called "The Player Characters." I want to see more of the band! What if they made it big? What if they went on tour? What if they had a fanbase that loved their music?!

Beyond the band, it's obvious they know each other, but how do they know each other beyond classmates? How did they meet? How did they all end up competing for the six most popular classmates to take to prom?! I want answers! And maybe some friendly rivalry or UST between the player characters!

The Mysterious Benedict Society (TV)

Constance Contraire & Original Psychic Character (TMBS TV)

There is so little we know about the TV iteration of Constance Contraire. Where did she learn about her gifts? Where did she come from? I want to see her interact with another psychic, and essentially have the "Oh, shit, you're like me!" realization, complete with the guilt and conflict of opening up to this character, who also must have felt alone in the world before they identified their gifts for what they were.

Nicholas Benedict/L.D. Curtain & S.Q. Pedalian (TMBS TV)

This one has so much potential for either crack, or angst, or potentially even fluff! SQ must have opinions about his father and uncle being romantically involved. Does he ship it? Is he a little confused, since he thought his dad hated his uncle's guts for the longest time? Is he being a little shit and having them compete for his affections in order to get what he wants? The limits only end with your imagination!

Reynie Muldoon & S.Q. Pedalian (TMBS TV)

An epic friendship, to be sure! I know SQ was hurt by Reynie when he found the letter, but considering everything, I think these two could definitely be friends if they were willing to talk through everything! Not to mention, they had to have interacted beyond that one exchange in the forest and Reynie trying to get in there, or else SQ wouldn't have risked his father's wrath so easily. What happened at the school to make SQ and Reynie so close?

Rhonda Kazembe & Number Two (TMBS TV)

The rivalry! The friendship! These two are full of surprises, and I'd love to see how they got along (or not) when they first met, or sneaking out to paint together, or going to that airshow! Truly, their clashing personalities are great to watch, and I love seeing these two come together over their shared love of truth and their desire to help Mr. Benedict.

Reynie Muldoon & Constance Contraire (TMBS TV)

These two were always close in the books, and their TV dynamic was really interesting! I'd love to see quiet missing scenes at the Institute, or what happens later on after they're home. What happens when Constance denies the adoption? Does Reynie talk to her, questioning why she'd "throw away" such a golden opportunity, putting a strain on them? Or does Constance confide in him that she's too scared to risk being accepted by Mr. Benedict? The choice is up to you!
 

Nicholas Benedict/L.D. Curtain (TMBS TV)

I nominated this in case you feel inclined to write about Benedict and Curtain but don't want to balance SQ in the mix. I'm open to just about anything with these two, so long as there's an eventual happy ending, or at least a hopeful one. Angst and guilt at incest is always golden, but people just rolling with it and allowing them to bicker like boyfriends around the house is also fun to see! Like I said before, the limits are only your imagination and my DNWs.
